$REX Overview

REX token is the central currency at the core of the Rexis ecosystem, supporting activity and transactions for all data submission and usage, training and fine-tuning, and inference on the platform.

Rexis ecosystem’s native asset is $REX, the token that powers the first decentralized network Biomedical discoveries and R&D. This section details REX’s economic structure and REX’s utility securing the network and providing support for all transactions on the blockchain.

Purpose of REX

In the REXIS network, participants are incentivized to contribute and maintain high-quality biomedical data. Whether it's a researcher accessing datasets or a patient uploading health records, $REX ensures immediate and fair compensation, fostering a collaborative environment for data sharing and utilization.

REX Governance

Holders of $REX tokens have the power to influence the direction of the REXIS platform. Through decentralized governance mechanisms, token holders can propose and vote on key decisions, including protocol upgrades, funding allocations, and partnership integrations, ensuring the platform evolves in line with community interests.

Staking $REX

Staking $REX tokens not only secures the network but also rewards participants. By locking tokens, users can earn additional $REX while supporting data validation processes and ensuring the integrity of the platform. Staked tokens may also grant enhanced governance privileges, allowing for a more significant impact on decision-making processes.

At launch, the total supply of $REX is set at 1,000,000,000 tokens. These tokens are distributed across various stakeholders to ensure a balanced and sustainable ecosystem

For a detailed breakdown of REX allocation at Genesis, each of the six core allocation groups are listed below.

REX Unlocks

The release of $REX tokens follows a structured schedule over a 3-year period post-launch. This phased approach ensures market stability and aligns token distribution with platform growth and adoption milestones.

Inflation Model

To maintain a healthy token economy, $REX employs a decreasing inflation rate:

  • Year 1: 10% annual inflation

  • Year 2: 5% annual inflation

  • Year 3 and beyond: 1% perpetual inflation

This model balances the need for ongoing incentives with the goal of preserving token value over time.

REX Circulating Supply

The circulating supply of $REX includes all tokens that have been unlocked and are not subject to vesting or lock-up agreements. This supply dynamically adjusts as tokens are released according to the unlock schedule and staking activities.

Utility of $REX

$REX tokens are integral to the REXIS platform's functionality:

  • Access: Utilize tokens to access premium datasets and analytical tools.

  • Incentives: Earn tokens by contributing data, validating information, or participating in research studies.

  • Governance: Engage in decision-making processes to shape the platform's future.

  • Staking: Lock tokens to support network security and earn rewards.

By integrating these utilities, $REX ensures active participation and a thriving, user-driven ecosystem.
